We stayed in something similar a few years ago on one of our many "do We want to move to Bend" trips.

The location was just a few blocks from downtown and we loved it. I think we went the VRBO route.

We went the VRBO route as well and loved it. A little place on the west side near 5th and Portland, I think it was called enchanted dwellings - 10 minute walk to downtown. These VRBOs are the way to go IMO. Good luck with it and have fun while your here!

I think we may stay at Mt. Bachelor Village. Any feedback on that place?
I recently moved to the River Wild neighborhood of MBV. Very happy here. There are all ages in MBV. I like that I can jump right on the river trail and walk to/fro downtown in under 30 minutes. By mid November there will be a pedestrian underpass on Colorado Avenue making downtown even easier to access. Also the dirt haul road that parallels Cascade Lakes Highway provides good access to the MTB trails.

Previously I lived in Broken Top and that definitely was a senior crowd.
