I use NOAA as the starting point and then compare to some of the other models. On NOAA you can use the point forecast feature to get a forecast for specific areas of town.

NOAA - Bend

I like to check in the morning and then again at night because the amounts change as the storm gets closer.

4 - 5 inches fell over night and its still snowing. At 33 degrees its wet and heavy, perfect for a snowman.

Only got about an inch or two here and it's pretty much all rain now. Doesn't look like it'll stick around for too long this time around.

what an awesome wet month. If the long range NWS outlooks are correct ?? we better enjoy it. The JFM forecast is for warm and dry. Any longtime locals remember other strong El Nino years here?

Look at the Dutchman Flat column in this chart and you'll find that there isn't much of a correlation with snowfall and El Nino for this area.

Here's the forecast from the Nordic center at Bachelor.

Quote:
Snow to resume at midnight tonight and while accumulation reports have shrunk (Sun now 8-12", Mon now 10-14", Tuesday 8-12" and Weds 4-8"), this series of systems through Christmas Eve is set to deliver.
For those reading from afar, temps dropped into the mid 20s last night making this morning's walk very slippery. Black ice may present a challenge for morning drivers.

Have experienced many black ice moments here this season. A dry wind blown powder snow this morning after the last snow being "cascade concrete" as I once heard it described. Not sure if today's snow over performs ? I do think good chance of a decent snow fall in town again before Christmas day.

Happy Sunday ! Be safe out there !

The forecast I use has 10" on the high end by Tuesday evening.

If that happens I'm hoping most of it comes late day Tuesday as we're leaving Tuesday morning heading to Seattle. We'll be watching reports and road cams to determine the best pass to take, but it sounds like most likely they're all gonna suck.

Wish us luck!!
