I like how the article addressed 4x4 vehicles. The rare occasion we get a big snow storms I see more 4x4 vehicles in the ditches the normal 2 wheel drive cars.

Yeah, it's called "false superiority". In other words, they think their vehicles are superior to all others, so they take too many dangerous risks. Nothing new here...

I think I dread Xmas tree hunting season more than deer hunting season, although they are similar. People venturing up into the mountains from the city once a year, armed with saws, axes and an SUV that is used only to shuttle kids to and from school. No idea that there might actually be rules and no common sense due to a coddled life. Scary on the slick paved roads, dangerous to themselves and others on snowy backroads, trashing groomed ski and snowshoe trails with oblivious postholing. Cutting the top part of the tree they want and leaving weird several foot tall "stumps" in random areas.
