Wanting To Relocate Bend Or Similar ... (unemployed, construction, contractors)

Hello. Any Thoughts Would Be Much Appreciated. My Husband And I Live In Southern Ca And Have Been Wanting To Move Out Of This State For Years. We Have Visited Bend And Really Like What It Has To Offer (recreation, Family Feel, Slower Way, Etc ). For Jobs, I Am A Master's Prepared Critical Care Rn & My Husband Is A Residential Contractor. We Are Both Concerned That The Job Opportunity Exists In The Bend Area For My Husband As A Residential Contractor. My Husband (knock On Wood) Has Done Fairly Well. We Just Are Not Sure What His Future Would Hold As A Residential Contractor In A Small Town Like Bend. Any Thoughts From Any Readers Would Be Appreciated.

I think you are smart to be concerned about a job for your husband. There is clearly a big demand for RNs like you, but the construction industry has slowed considerably. What jobs there are, are easily filled by the many applicants. There is residential construction going on, especially in some of the high end "destination resorts", and in the cheaper developments, so construction is not at a standstill, but there is no shortage of labor and there are unemployed contractors.
