Well, if you have a good mechanic, you can't just send anyone to them. Especially since most of the folks I know that work on cars do it more or less as a hobby and not as their primary business. Posting their name on line wouldn't be pono. Also, I can't really send the OP to anyone I know who fixes cars since I don't know the OP. If he were a pain and caused trouble to the mechanic friend, it would be a huge black mark for me. Plus I'm on the other side of the island. But the OP should know some car folks somewhere.

If you go to Hilo then there is Jimmy's Radiator shop. His son Steve fixes our cars. He's very good, honest and very reasonably priced. Jimmy's is in the phone book.
