Hopefully, some positive news on this storm. It is showing signs of tracking further south and west of where the estimates were a couple of days ago.
That is a far worse case scenario - much worse.
Not only is the BI potentially impacted greatly more so than Iselle (strongest winds are northwest, directly at Puna), it now is tracking for a huge impact on Oahu and potentially greater impact on Kauai.
I think that if it heads south, there's less chance of the mountains breaking up the storm. I'm hearing reports of potentially 10 to 20 foot high waves in both Puna and Ka'u. And a storm surge of up to four feet.

I will be concerned for you all with possible highwinds and the lavaflow, its a great potential for a runaway fire or fires.
Not much chance of fire with the consistant rain. The latest brush fire was mostly in Uluhe fern, burning towards Ainaloa which burned dramatically. but did no real damage, only adding a little ash fertilizer. We're more worried about being cut off, maybe for years.
