January will be a great time for us all to meet. JoDan will be visiting and Hoot N Annie will be arriving soon. How about meeting at Hana Hou in Na'alehu at 5:30 for dinner on January 22? Send me a DM so I know who to expect.

My Jan 1 eta has been pushed back to a Jan 8 eta... and may be further adjusted...
Ideally, my buddy (he's not so forum savy... his prop in HOVE our dest.) and I should be there and somewhat settled by then. Gonna hafta ride the fence on this one...

We have a saying here "if can do, if can't don't". Hopefully you will make it here and will be able to join us!

Regardless of outcome on this event... I insist (and my buddy can just deal w it... if he must...) that those (willing) in or close-in HOVE join us for an informal do of some sort... we are both more the 'wild-life, solar oven' types than 'taxis and a show'...

edited to ask*
Can you give me a translation (and possibly a breakdown) of that "If can, do... If can't, don't."?

Rex, if you are active and join groups, there are usually a lot of opportunities to participate in various activities. The message is that if you can make it to -- fill in the blank -- then do, but if you can't then that's okay. If you show up, then you are welcome, but if you don't then no problem. No one is going to judge you for not being there.

I don't know, most of the Ka'u social activities tend to be more on the "suit-and-tie" end.

@DoH
I understand the implications of the quote... I was asking more for an Hawaiian translation, if such exists, and a breakdown of the words... I'm slowly learning by osmosis...
