What's with this punatic nickname i so often hear? Alaska has similar reputation and that's because it's frontier and criminals run there. What's the story with Puna?

Urban Dictionary definition of Punatic: "A deadbeat person living in Puna, often on welfare and stoned into oblivion. Most punatics are caucasian jungle dwellers with open relationships." Yeah, that's me, sort of, no welfare.

Ha!

The "open relationship" aspect means that most females don't go for this lifestyle for very long.

Just think how much more land you will have in a few years....

Actually, any land added by lava flows (i.e. "lava extensions") belong to the State of Hawaiʻi…
Who owns new coastal lands created by lava flows?

Alaska IS a frontier (lived there 15+ years). But criminals run everywhere. In Alaska, criminals steal drugs, guns, cash, and electronics. In Puna criminals steal drugs, guns, cash, water pumps, kitchen cabinets, generators, chainsaws, and weed whackers.

Everybody I know defines Punatic as somebody who is enthusiastic about living in Puna. Nothing more, nothing less.
