Going to be really difficult to ballpark without some specifics. 30 miles from the port to your location? Which port, Kawaihai or Hilo? And 30 miles from either could be a lot of different places.
Best bet would be to contact Kona Trans or Conen's Freight, give them the specifics and ask for a qoute. These are.two of the bigger transport companies and both are good folks to deal with.

Yup, there's only a few companies who move containers so you can call and ask all of them without too much work. We had one moved about a decade and a half ago and it was a couple hundred dollars then, haven't a clue what it would be now.

Ive done this a few times and they basically most have a minimum around $250-300. Like Hotcatz said...ask em all.

Even though we're frequently called the 'Big Island' (keeps down the confusion when using Hawaii Island), folks frequently forget how small we actually are. When the island is separated into the Hilo side and the Kona side, then it's even smaller.

There's only two real centers of industrial types of businesses on the island. Most if not all trucking companies will be working out of either Kona or Hilo, and they aren't going to be overly interested in driving to the other side of the island to move a container thirty miles. If they were doing a drop off on that side, they may consider it, but that all depends on their schedule of other deliveries.

We had one container taken from the port to the far side of Puna, but it was all flat roads and paved, so they didn't charge as much as if it would have been down one of the unpaved roads in some of the Puna areas. We had another container taken from Kawaihae area to the middle of the Hamakua coast. That one was less expensive since we waited until they'd dropped off the load they were bringing out from Hilo to the Kawaihae port and then had them pick up our container and drag it halfway back to Hilo.

One of those was about twenty years ago, the other one about ten or twelve years ago, so the numbers will probably have changed. Once you find out, we would be interested in hearing how much it costs these days.

I used Conens to move two different containers. They went the extra mile helping me get it level up on foundation blocks, etc. No extra charge.

p.s. their drivers accept tips.
