Hell'o ! we are looking at property lots but we can't get the elevation of the land, we called and talked to the planning and they couldn't help much. we want to build a two story but could run into a height restriction overlooking views ect. something about 209 above sea level at one site. so anyone have any ideals (HOW TO SEARCH) to search on the internet what the land elevation is, we live in sacramento area ca. so trying our best here. will call more than planning but who else??? thank you mahalo david

Try to find a topographical map of the subdivision online. Where is it on the island?

Edit: For instance, here is HOVE. https://www.topozone.com/hawaii/hawa...-view-estates/

You can also open Google Earth and place the cursor where you want to know the elevation. Elevation is displayed in the lower right corner.

Is the height restriction in a covenant controlled community? Wouldn’t the restriction on building a two-story be dependent on blocking views from other lots and, if so, then what does your elevation matter?

Usually height restrictions on building are so many feet above the finished grade of the lot. I've never heard of it in relationship to the elevation of the lot in relationship to the island.

We need the OP to clarify what he/she means when talking about the "height restriction overlooking views".
