Kalapana not looking so good! They're best for drug crimes though, isn't that interesting. Not sure the average person really cares about that one, if they're not affected.

I don't have any reference understanding of how these numbers compared to elsewhere in the state or country, but thanks for posting.

It's really not as bad as I would have thought. Threads like "Fern Forest Ice Head Warzone" made me think crime was much more rampant.

How much time have you spent in Fern Forest?

Regardless - a lot of crime goes unreported.

I'm leaving for the Big Island tomorrow for a week. I'm staying northwest of Hilo but I'm going to check out Fern Forest and most of Puna. I've been researching Puna heavily for a couple months now.

If I see anything interesting, I will upload it!

Yes, and Honolulu is a crime-free utopia and there aren't homeless camps every few miles.

You should come over sometime - certainly not entirely crime free but I certainly feel much safer than roaming Puna - and I'm fairly happy how they've managed the homeless situation and putting them into places the general public and myself don't see.

I spend several weeks a year there. I usually stay downtown. I've seen a lot.
