We are planning on moving to the Puna area in Big Island early next year. OUr 3 1/2 yo daughter goes to preschool now, but I have heard bad things about schools on Big Island, so considering homeschooling. Anybody out there with a toddler at home who could give some advise? My biggest concern is lack of social interaction with other kids. I always loved the idea of homeschooling, but never could do it due to work schedule. Are there support groups or other homeschoolers in the area?

Thanks,
Anais

There are some support groups and I have seen some materials that both charter schools and the public schools provide. Since your child will only be 4 1/2 next year... I don't think you have to worry about "bad schooling" for that age group. (I could be wrong...) You could enroll in one of the many private preschools, especially if you belong to a religious organization.
