When I leave the house for work I always put on one of her favorite movies. Her current favorites include Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Despicable Me, Horton Hears a Who (Jim Carrey version) and all of the Chipmunk movies. I had to hide Rio because after listening to it several times it got very annoying to me.

She has watched these so often that she actually has them memorized, and will imitate the voices. At the "exciting" parts she will flap her wings and dance, and never take her eyes off of the tv. When she knows one of her favorite parts is coming up she gets excited and waits for it.

Interestingly, she has no interest in some movies. She doesn't like The Simpsons, for example, or any of the modern cartoons. She HATES sports, and if I try to watch football or basketball in my room she starts knocking her beak against the cage in a loud and annoying manner until I give in and put on one of her movies, and then I have to go downstairs to watch sports. She does like NASCAR, however.

I actually bought an HD tv to put in my room for her. This is one spoiled bird.

My amazon likes watching movies and music videos. My friend got a Criterion collection of Michel Gondry's videos and we were watching the video to "Hyperballad" by Bjork:

Björk - Hyperballad (Official Music Video) - YouTube

He started listening and had his head cocked to watch the video, started warbling along with it, and then started making the concerned little "pip" noises that he makes when someone is really depressed. He flew over to the TV and kept trying to kiss the screen - he picked up on Bjork's melancholy undertones, and was trying to comfort her!!

If you watch any sort of horror film where people are screaming, he gets REALLY upset, worried, and afraid. If you watch anything where there are kids talking or cheering, he flips out because he loves kids and wants to see where his new friends are, to the point that he'll start flying and walking around the room looking (I think that he thinks he's a kid).

That is too funny! My macaw likes the shows where kids are talking or laughing, and she laughs right along with them. Has your bird watched "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" which is one of my bird's current favorites?

Birds are amazing creatures! This thread has been fun to read.

My cats like to watch hockey. I suspect that Cookie has a crush on Claude Giroux.
