I'm going by what my avian vet recommends. She's a well-established vet who has long practiced in the specialty of parrots. I have met people in her waiting room from as far away as North Carolina (she's in FL) who come to bring their parrots to her because of her reputation.
Your opinion differs, which is fine. I've used it on my parrots with no detrimental effects and it has been a help to them. I simply brought it up as an option for the OP to discuss with their own Avian vet if indeed their birds were going to be under as much stress as the original post indicated (as I read it, anyway).
I'll DM you to discuss further rather than debate on this thread.
