Hello everyone. My wife and I have decided to move to Birmingham, and will likely be living in the Brook Hills area. I was hoping someone could give me some advice about what Community Colleges or Universities would be recommended for me to start my path toward a degree in Nursing?

I know some schools except students into Bachelor's Degrees even if they don't have an Associate's Degree. I wasn't sure if there were any Birmingham universities that would offer a Bachelor's Degree to someone without an associates.

Thank you in advance for the help!

UAB is one of the premier healthcare education institutions in the world, with a variety of career paths ultimately available to you after your degree is finished. You'll do fine in their program.

Only a very few schools are set up for only third and fourth years of university. Otherwise, virtually all schools accept students directly from high school. Some universities may not accept all class credits earned at a community college or junior college; be sure to check with admissions counselor. On the other hand, students can often get an economical head start on a university degree by starting out at a junior college.

Good luck to you. (BTW, Birmingham's great, I love it)

Would you be able to suggest a good community college to me in Birmingham? I was looking at Jefferson State and Lawson State Community Colleges.

Also how is Birmingham doing with employment currently? My wife is a Chef and she'll be looking for a restaurant to work in (likely during the day for Breakfast and Lunch).

Jeff State is a good one. And there are excellent restaurants in the 'ham. They're always hiring.
