Also, do you know that Trinity Medical Center will be relocate to new hospital on HWY 280 in next 2 years?
I'm actually an early person so getting out of the house early won't be a problem. If I could consistently get to work in 30-40 minutes and still live out in the country, I would be thrilled!

As for the boss, that will be me. My closest boss will be 170 miles away, but that doesn't mean that I will be able to work any hours I want. The business will dictate my hours and I am uncertain if I will be able to work earlier like I do here or not.

I didn't know that Trinity was moving. I'm not actually working at Trinity, I just used it for a reference point as I will be working close to there.

Thank you. You have been a tremendous help!

I'm from Jasper originally, the newly constructed I-22 passes through Jasper and is three lanes all the way from Jasper to B'ham. So no more having to go down Highway 78 with it's bajillion stop lights! There are very few cars also. Only thing left for them to build is the interchange with I-65, so you have to get off on Coalburg Road, which is just a couple miles from 65.

Thanks Joey. Yeah, the last time I made the trip from B'Ham to Jasper it was out good ole Hwy 78. I hear that it will probably take the a year or so to get the interchange with I-65 completed, but is that where you normally first hit the traffic on a morning commute.

With the completion to Coalburg Rd, how long does the trip from Jasper take on an average day?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

I am looking at all of those areas, but I don't know if they are far enough out of the city for us. A couple of the schools like Fultondale and Morris don't look like they would be a good fit for us, but I am taking a closer look at all of them.

Thanks again, I'm glad to be moving down there!

35-40 minutes sounds really good. I thought it was longer than that.

Thanks!

What about Calera or Thorsby or somewhere else in Chilton county? Or is that too far? On second thought, traffic is probably worse too.

I really like the Calera area and, mileage-wise, it's not too far at all. Google shows a 35 mile commute in 41 minutes. If that is accurate, I would be perfectly fine with it, but from looking at the forums it looks like that drive would be more like an hour or more with a lot of sitting.

Calera is one of the first areas I looked at that I thought would be a good fit based upon the area and schools.

I would recommend somewhere around Calera. There is lots of land but you're close to everything at the same time. It's really become a nice area. Traffic would be the only downside. It should get better as they complete road construction in the area, however.
