Birmingham steel mill site may be development magnet | al.com

I've heard everything from industrial park to mixed use with commericial and residential to digging a moat all the way to Birmingport to support whatever industry they can put in there. There has been little direction and no action on this for the last decade according to the article.

At any rate, I thought land like that was hard to clean up and that putting houses there would not be ideal...at least not with any short term goal because of the time it would take to clean it.

If you were given autonomous control with Sim-City like powers, what would you do?

I personally don't see anything cool going there. Just a very nice light to medium industrial park to attract new businesses to Birmingham that would probably be taken over by street racers and bikers during the nights and weekends.

It screams industrial park, thats probably the only thing you could put there, and it would be a economic driver for the Ensley area for years to come.

Start a new game?

IIRC, there is a mountain range preventing that "moat" (canal is the proper term).

I was being facetious by calling it a moat. I think somewhere in the article they mentioned that it was LaLa's idea which made the whole idea suspect in my opinion.

Humor noted and recorded. I like. I take posters who use humor more seriously.
