Default How To Help In The Birmingham Area.

Okay, Birminghamsters (As well as those in Cullman, Tuscaloosa, et al), let's start a thread on ways to help those among us who have lost so much due to the terrible storms.

My candidate is the Birmingham Red Cross, which serves central Alabama:

Mid Alabama Region - Services - Emergency Services - 2011 Alabama Tornado Response

I'd love to get a few BBQ teams together to help feed everyone in Tuscaloosa or wherever we're needed most.
They can really pump out the food and are used to primitive conditions. We've got generators and self contained trailers w/refers and freezers so all we'd need is the Ok and the place to go...

100% of your donations to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is put to use. Not one red cent is deducted for overhead, salaries, future fund raising or anything else. Sadly, that's not true for some many other organizations.

I sure hope all of America is helping out liberally with their funds and resources. I personally am a Red Cross donor, but there are many other reputable help groups and ministries to chose from. If everyone just gives what they can....it will help the relief efforts and help Alabama get back to normal as soon as possible.
