Hi I'm looking for an affordable hair salon in the Birmingham area. Preferably the 280 or the Homewood area. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a shampoo and cut. And I'd like to find a place that is clean, professional, and somewhat keeps up with the trends. I'm looking to stay under the $30 range for a shampoo and cut. Any suggestions?

30 will send you to cuts-r-us or so. Sorry! I faithfully followed Toni who is now at "Salon 280". He may be an older guy but can cut hair, especially thin or straight locks! My mother drives from Atlanta. I will not from DFW:>((((

When I lived in the B'ham area (I moved to TX in 2004), I went to Hala Salon in B'ham (2831 7th Avenue South) exclusively. This is an Aveda salon, and will cost you more than $30, but she always did exactly what I wanted and always made it work beautifully.
