Default Moving to Bham from NY Apartment help please

Hey everyone i'm getting a job transfer and have little-no time to apartment hunt in person. I am looking to live in southern birmingham/hoover. Does anyone have any apartment complexes that they recommend that's not going to cost me an arm and leg and in a good area? I have been researching Bell Summit, Ridge Crossing in hoover, and chace village.. any recommendations?

I'm pretty sure anything in Birmingham will be cheaper than what you were paying in NY.

Try Morgan Manor in Vestavia. I have heard from some friends who lived there while their house was being remodeled that they are outstanding. Price is under $1000 a month but not sure what that gets you in NY since most of these apartments are 1200 square feet and two bedrooms.

Or... you might consider renting a house. The market is down, and you might be able to get a nice house at a quite reasonable cost.

Try craigslist. S and G has some nicer historic properties.
