@rawrockills: Yes, now I remember seeing signposts for that uni on the way. So it has to be on the Lakeshore drive side. The trails. Wow. I have never seen so many women (together) take a jog/run in Bham. I just wanted to park my car somewhere, light up a cigarette and watch them. Also all the kids playing was a good sight to see. Boston and Minneapolis were different. Those sights then gradually became normal and didnt appeal to my hormones at all. But now, its a different thing all together :P

@Threestep: Well, I would have loved to walk to work. But now I see myself looking at people walking on the road (on the ROAD, since there is no sidewalk) with amusement. Bham changed me as a person I guess ... I am guessing if most of the cities don't have a sidewalk, could that be one of the reasons AL is the fattest state of US ?

Cheers,

I've lived at the Oaks for a little over a year and the only signs of crime I've seen are that one of the gates has been torn off twice--apparently from someone driving through it. Also, a lot of the tenants seem to be UAB or Samford students. I rarely see children around the complex and I don't think there is very much space to play outdoors other than the street. As others have said, there's not much at Wildwood besides Walmart/Sam's Club, fast food/chain restaurants, and hotels, but I've been happy here.

Keep in mind that the hotels in Wildwood/Lakeshore/Oxmoor are common hot spots for traveling "working" girls.

Yeah just one of those fetishes that have no logical explanation.
