We're about to head out on a road trip through the area. I always spot a pretty nice looking park with a big playground in the East side of I-65. I think it's somewhere between Birmingham and Montgomery. It's probably closer to Montgomery, maybe even south of Montgomery. I don't remember. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or the name of this park? I'd love to make this a pit stop if I could find it beforehand.

Thanks!

Well, there's a Rest Stop a little north of Clanton. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Sounds like it might be a park in Montgomery. That description's just a little vague...you're talking about 60 or 70 miles there...

Yeah, I know. It's just the only playground and park I've noticed that's right next to the interstate.

Yeah, I've seen on my trips north. It's just on the north side of the Montgomery exits off I-65. I think there is also a golf course there, and pavilions for picnics.

It should be one of these: Parks, Trails, Natural Areas

Ron

PS: I just did a google earth trip through there, and came up empty. I know I saw it, and confirmed with someone else that was with me! Maybe the GE images are not new enough, who knows... Next time I go to B'ham I'll make it a point to note the name and what exit it is on.

Thanks Ron. Glad someone else has noticed it too! =)
I also did a Google Earth tour a few days ago and found nothing. I think it's been there a couple years, so it's strange to not find it. I'll go through the park website later tonight when I have time and see if I recognize it.

That proves that I can remember stuff, but get the details fuzzy . Southwest of the city. The GE images showed it under construction, I believe. If you do stop in, let us all know how it is!
