Hello, We will be relocating to the Birmingham Area and looking for some input on housing communities in the areas above (Trussville, Leeds, Gardendale etc.). All seem to be a reasonable commute (though I've read that around 280 can be congested). We are looking for a newer home in the 250,000-300,000 range. I was also hoping to find a community with a pool, child's playgrounds, and neighborhood activities. Safety is important as well. Also, recommendations for a good preschool and elementary school would be appreciated. For preschool, I just want a warm and nurturing environment (a few hours a few times a week is fine). For elementary schools, a good academic program in a creative learning environment would be ideal. Thank you!

Trussville would be my pick among those. Although I think you should consider Hoover as well, the sections closer to I-65 rather that 280.

Thanks for your reply. Are there any housing communities that you would recommend in the Trussville or Hoover areas?

Not really. I would go to realtysouth.com. They have a really good website for searching.

Depends on what options you are looking for in a house. I would suggest Ralph Harbison or Lee Marlow (real estate agents) to help you find a great home. These guys I know personally and they will give you great advice.
