Default Birmingham residents: New Chef at Veranda on Highlands

Some good friends of ours ate there recently and raved about the new chef who came from Commanders Palace in New Orleans. According to this article in the Birmingham News, he brought several others from CP with him...

I'm going to try to get by there in the near future....

I had the pleasure of having Sunday Brunch at Commanders seven years ago and it was awesome.

The Brennan's really know how to run a restaurant....

Socal2Bham is on a distinguished road
I read about the new chef there about a month ago when I was looking for a nice place to have dinner and celebrate my home purchase. We didn't end up going there but I really want to check it out. The menu looked amazing.
My group of friends meet regularly for happy hour and I've been trying to get them to go there sometime but as usual trying to get them to go ALLLL the way downtown is like asking them to go to the moon sometimes!

I do some travel writing for the Trip Advisor. If you are looking to explore the local restaurant scene...click here....I've reviewed about 40 restaurants....
