Default Special needs school in B'ham

I am a very concerned parent dealing with a school that won,t follow my
daughters IEP.This schoo in the Birmingham area doesn,t seem to be concerned whether or not following the iep is important. Progress reports are not recieved on a consistant basis, one time last year 2 months past consistantly no one bothered to send me a progress report My daughter was slapped by another student.I have asked for feedback from the teachers,I dont get feed back unless I initiate it.She came home last week telling me that nobody in the school system cares about her ,I forgotten to mention to you that my child is autistic, and does not see,or rationalize like most people do.This school is very reactive to situation,s instead of being proactive getting on top of problems before they occur. I am very flustrated could some body give me some advice on what should I do.

Sorntyn:

I have an autistic child and fight the battles you do...PM me so we can communicate directly with each other.

My wife and I can help you (at least) with advice and potentially point you to an attorney. As a parent of a Special Needs child, you have a lot of "power in your corner" and learning how to threaten your school system will get them to straighten up and fly right....

Looking forward to hearing from you....we have a lot of experience with this....

John
