Those ten steps are taking the stadium out of the Downtown Core, beyond the Perimeter and into a neighboring county.

Dude Birmingham and it's population couldn't care less what any person from Atlanta thinks about us getting a new stadium.

Also do you mean won't instead of want. Learn grammar before you come over and bash our city.

Obviously you and everybody in Birmingham do care. y'all trying to copy Atlanta every step of the way. That's why y'all name it Bham "the stepson of Atlanta" when it's not! Y'all still have racism and stuck down there. unlike Atlanta Y'all just barely getting stuff down there plus, people in B'Ham are much slower and boring. That's why people from other states are not moving there. 600 + people ain't crap compare to ATL, Huston, Charlotte that get 50,000 + a year. Just take the "L" and admit that y'all never going to get that Dome and y'all will never become a mainstream city. BTW- I care less about my grammar on this damn site.

atlanta is gaining 50,000 a year? really? the population of atlanta is lower now than it was in 1960.

between 2000 and 2010 the city gained fewer than 4,000 residents.

Are you adding just the city or both the metro area and Atlanta combine together?

Atlanta is still getting a lot of people moving there. That's why the traffic so bad compared to a few years ago. Same can also be said about Houston and Charlotte.

In 1950 both Birmingham and Atlanta had approximately the same population in the metro area of about 500,000. Atlanta embraced it's ethnic diversity and Birmingham went the raciest route. As a result by 1970 Atlanta was at about 1.2 Million and Birmingham was around 700,000. The city center of Birmingham peaked in about 1960 and has been declining ever since. Atlanta's city center has more than quadrupled in the same time.
