Kinda came as a surprise to me when the new 2012-13 MSA, CSA definitions were released. The new official title for the CSA is Birmingham-Hoover-Talladega.

How many years will it be before Tuscaloosa will be added to the CSA?

or

How long will it take before the Bham and Atlanta CSA's border each other?

How many people does Talladega add?

I figure Tuscaloosa will be added within the next 5-7 years.

Bordering Atlanta? 20 years.

Last census estimate for Talladega Co was over 82k.

It looks like a lot of CSAs got expanded/combined. So I don't think it was a matter of the Birmingham area growing particularly more concentrated, but the CSA formula being tweaked in some way.

Spoil sport.

I figure growth is inevitable for any of the top 50-60 metros, but if any of them goes backwards it is quite newsworthy. Birmingham had been a bit stagnant and is now moving in the right direction again. Maybe not as fast as some others but still.

True statement.

Athens, GA is now a part of the Atlanta CSA.

Nashville's CSA now reaches the Alabama border.

By CSA you mean community supported agriculture, right ?
Wanting to spend my money on the local community instead of conglomerates, a few months ago, I made quite an effort in finding a) A local farm which will sell a weeks supply of usual daily vegetables b) a local dairy farm which will sell three gallons of milk a week. Both of the above at least at reasonable prices if not cheaper than publix or exorbitant like whole foods (a gallon of milk at $9 !!)
Though I understand my requirements for flexibility are sadly not too productive for produce farms, but I was never able to find a decent seller or a seller with some reviews. Do y'all participate in the CSA ? If yes, any recommendations for sellers ? I dont mind driving a distance on weekends to pick my groceries.
