I'm starting a job in Liberty Park come the 17th and I desperately need a place to stay nearby that's in my budget ($800 or less) with a fenced in yard (I've got dogs). I was hoping to find something in the Cahaba Heights area, but I'm willing to check out other locations as well so long as it's close-ish to Liberty park and fenced in! I've checked craigslist and about a million other rental sites. Please help I'm seriously freaking out here!
You can check out the neighborhood near the Eastwood Wal-Mart. There are small houses over there -- on either side of Elder St., along Montclair, or on Cresthill -- that might possibly fall into your price bracket.
$800 is tough for a single-family home (fenced yard/dogs) in a decent neighborhood.
You might look in Roebuck Springs, or parts of South Roebuck, or the easternmost sections of East Lake (near Roebuck Springs).
None of those are "near" Liberty Park, but nothing is really near Liberty Park. The areas I suggested will give you access to 459.
ETA: And this assumes schools are not an issue for you.
I just saw your message, I was wondering if you ever found a place with a fenced in yard near Liberty Park area? That's usually some pretty steep real-estate. Irondale is not to far from there, ....hope you found a place......
later....

Unfortunately for you, Liberty Park is by nature pretty much designed to be a wealthy exclusive community. While Irondale and Eastern Birmingham may not be as close as Cahaba Heights, the commute is likely not too bad. Keep in mind that if you're dealing with rush hour, driving toward Bham in the morning and away in the evening on 280 is best avoided.

True. I really think Cahaba Heights is the best possible option.
Thanks everyone who replied! Im looking into a few places, mostly in Cahaba Heights. Hard to find a fenced in yard that costs something reasonable but im hoping to talk a few people down. If anyone's HEARD anything about a good place to live in Cahaba Heights or about a house for rent i'd be super grateful!
There are some older townhouses in CH that have fenced yards. Those might work. There is one on Craigslist for $950. There is also a house in Hoover for $900 ( probably closer-in Hoover, or Bluff Park, at that price).

Bluff Park isn't very convenient to Liberty Park or even 459 though.
Well, I'm thinking price, fenced yard and dogs. I think convenience has to come in fourth in this particular situation.
