I was involved in a motor vehicle accident Monday. The other driver was a teen, and he provided no proof of insurance. My car sustained approximately $4500 in damages and I am outraged....OUTRAGED, that he received no citation. What can I do??

Not much you can do. Except carry uninsured motorists coverage on your insurance. Your insurance will then go after him for damages and you just move on with life. Just wanting him to be punished by the law for some relatively small fine is just going to eat at you to no avail. Have to just let it go unfortunately.

As someone who has had one car totaled and another badly damaged by uninsured motorists, I have to respectfully disagree with you. Getting sued by an insurance company isn't much of a deterrent.

Oh no. I wasn't trying to imply that it was. That's why I said just suck it up and move on. The victim rarely gets justice in these situations.

Are we to assume the other party was at fault? Or is the OP angry because he was at fault and would feel better about the whole thing if the other party at least got a citation?

So did the kid not have any insurance or just no PROOF of insurance? A citation for no proof would have been in order but chances are if the kid did have it the judge would have dismissed the ticket anyway. I just love when OP's never come back to update.

You're lucky he wasn't an "undocumented alien" that jumped out of the car and ran.
