Default Alabaster, AL?

Hello everyone

Does anyone know if Alabaster is a good place to live and raise my son?
Is there good paying teaching jobs, construction jobs, or Computer jobs in that area?

I live there too. Definately the place to be. There's a lot of schools in the area. A lot of stores being built. And really not a lot of crime at all, besides some speed demons (my road is 30mph, not 70!)

There's constantly homes being added, starting in the mid 100s upto well.. crazy numbers. We've got some insane mansions in the area. I love the area, it's just right although it's getting to be a bit too suburban for me, I'm a country kinda gal.

Thank you both.
I am a country/small town girl that is stuck in NY. Alabaster is becoming to suburban, but so is every where else (which sucks). That's why we are moving in the spring and while we are living in an apartment we are going to be looking for a house. We are only going to buy a house that has a lot of land this way when everything gets built up we are not on top of our neighbors. My husband suggested we live on the corner of a small town.

Doesn't Alabaster get hit with Tornadoes?????

All of Alabama gets hit with tornadoes. Alabaster is growing fast and if you want alot of land it is too late (already built up on top of each other) you will have to go farther out for the land and prepare to pay a good price. Calera is an area growing that may still have some larger parcels but you may have to go farther out toward Clanton. Traffic in the area is awful. My family moved 7 years ago from Alabaster area to McCalla area because of overgrowth and now it is happening in McCalla. Maybe you should try North of Birmingham, beautiful country and slower pace. Good Luck
