You are correct. It took a little effort to get enough info to help pinpoint his area. That area is certainly not S.E. Birmingham as he stated, which is why Lake Purdy was mentioned. (I lived in that area twenty-five years and never knew that lake had a name, much less one so overly used).

He's looking in four or five cities at once also. ???

I've never heard it referenced as Cahaba Lake either, or the area around it. The other clues he gave seemed to be a bit ambiguous. Nonetheless, there are several good areas to choose from south of Birmingham.
