I vote yes. Had dinner tonight at El Barrio, and a drink at The Collins, and hipsters were everywhere. I have never been to Paramount, but i heard that several hipsters hung out there, as well.

On Second Ave. North; Grace is opening across from El Barrio, Not yo' mama's , next to Urban Standard, both in just weeks.

That's eight spots I can count in about three blocks. And yes, these places tend to be really busy all the time. Especially Paramount.

If you didn't try the meatloaf at EL Barrio, do next time.

Lol at dedouchefin as the active ingredient.

I am afraid it has already started. All the trendy spots for years on the Southside have been home to the granola, grungy types that drive old beat up VWs, Saabs and Subarus with a bunch of bumper stickers. Hipster is just the latest name given to them. But there's still plenty of yo bro fratboys down there too as well as some goths. UAB has a number of assembly lines going in three shifts pouring these types out.

Is resistance futile?

We could just erect a fake (or a real) 2nd Apple Store down there on 20th St and announce a special I-phonapodapadbook 7 coming out. Then, when there all gathered together in one place...

I had no idea about these new places opening, especially so soon. Last night, El Barrio was very busy (espn for a Wednesday). I have had their meatloaf, and it was fabulous, as well as, their Spicy Margaritas. I guess 2nd ( along Avondale), are kinda like hipster central. I have been thinking about the types per district, and i thought the best place for hipsters was downtown and Avondale, college kids in Lakeview, out of towners in Uptown, amd Five Points South for everyone.

This along with an American Apparel, another Urban Outfitters, H&M, and a future Trader JOE'S.
