How Birmingham's Samford University is growing and going strong | AL.com

After reading this article about the growth of Samford University, I decides to start this to discuss opportunities for all educational levels in Birmingham.

I salivate at the thought of the Samford University growth potential and the ongoing growth at UAB, and the possibility of the two working together for the scholastic improvements in Birmingham. I had no idea that healthcare was a major part of Samfors, until I read the article. Several cities have colleges and universities (who are unrelated), that work together for the growth of their region.I only chose Samford and UAB, because of the mention of healthcare in the article. I am sure if all 4 major colleges/universities, in the area, can come together to ensure quality education around Birmingham.

I don't know much about healthcare in general at Samford but I do know that they have a well respected pharmacy program. I have known many people to enter their program.

It does seem as though they have a lot of plans for growth. I know they are wanting to expand and that's why they've purchased these buildings. However, they are completely different architecture styles from what Samford typically does, even for their new buildings. Wondering if they are trying to modernize in some respects?

I think Samford is a beautiful campus!

Lawson State is an excellent place to start your education. The cost are low, making it affordable for those who have to pay their own way. And with the STARS program, everything you take there is equal and accepted at all state schools.
