moved here 2 years ago.....Is there a country bar (that just has country music bands or even a true dance floor) around here? I grew up two stepping and beer drinking and love to hear country music. Where do I go? I'll even drive a few hours out of town for one (montgomery? atlanta?) . I looked into Nashville...never been but hotels were expensive..surely around here I can find a place to go. hole in the wall is fine with me. to put in perspective..I am 39 and have 2 young kids and my husband and I want a good country music night out.

Have you tried Tin Roof? That's the closest thing to it that I can think of. If you're wanting a true country bar, the closest thing I can think of is Cowboy's in Dothan, AL.

I haven't tried tin roof but did read about it. That's on our list to try.
Dothan may be too far of a drive. but I'll add it to the book!
Thanks!

I think you'll enjoy Tin Roof then. I assumed you tried it and didn't like it and was looking for something less known.

I don't even know if it's still in business but there used to be a place in Tuscaloosa named Big Al's that may be close to what you're looking for.

Nashville HAS to have something like that. When we go there, we don't go clubbing, so I can't help with that, but surely there are places. Wild Horse Saloon?
Alabama's kind of a funny place....not much dancing. We go to work, we go to church, we stay home. Might whoop and holler when we drink, but we don't dance very much.

Lots of places in Nashville. Should be able to find a cheaper hotel outside of downtown and Uber it to the Broadway area.

If you're looking to stay in Birmingham you may need to venture outside of downtown...maybe the Trussville/Clay area? I know there used to be a place in Alabaster called Razin Kane but has since closed.
