I am a Huntsvillian contemplating a job in the Birmingham area, specifically Leeds. I know little about the Leeds area. What would be a good area to look for rental housing that would be within convenient driving access to Leeds?

Thanks

price range? is it just you? what else are you interested in/want to be around? there are a lot of different areas within about a 15 minute drive from leeds that i'd recommend based on other factors.

Sorry to bump old thread, but this job relocation looks more like its going to happen.

Price range is max $1200/ month. Just me.

Leeds, Moody, Trussville.

Also, look at areas down highway 119 as you head towards 280.

I was looking at the 280 area. Yes I know everyone says traffic sucks. Ill be heading into work early, so not worried about morning rush hour. Afternoon is another story.....

As someone else has already stated. Depending on your criteria, Leeds and even Moody are limitless in regards as to what could literally be only 10-15 minutes away.

If you are working in Leeds, you would take either interstate 459 or highway 119 from the 280 area to Leeds so traffic probably wouldn't be that bad anyway

Crestwood in the city of Birmingham proper. Much closer to all of the things to do in the area, yet still only 15 minutes from Leeds. And you will always drive against traffic so no worries there at all. Lots of rental homes in the area in that price range.

Working in Leeds I would take a slightly longer commute and drive from Pell City, Odenville, Margaret, or around those areas. Anything past the very beginning of Irondale on the Birmingham side isn't very desirable in my opinion. There is always Trussville which is a short commute. It has more convenience such as shopping and dining but you will get more for your money home wise in the other areas if you shop around.
