You will be absolutely miserable in Trussville is you are young and single. The burbs will be there when you are ready to avail yourself of a better school system, but the youngins (myself included) are flocking to the city center. I'll be round that way this summer, so holler - lil citydata lovestory being written.

I live in the Trussville area, and there are no Bars in Trussville city limits. The city has a regulation that 50% of your sales has to be Food to have a Bar so you have to have a restaurant to even have a bar.

My wife and myself usually end up at Applebee's or Buffalo Wild Wings during the week but on weekends we go to Moody there is a bar there called Moody Blue Bar. Its 15 min or so away. So not ideal, other than that Southside or uptown are you best bet for bars.

Or really any entertainment whatsoever.

Look, I'm not knocking Trussville. Lots of nice places. But it's just not an area for people who want to live an active after-hours lifestyle, whether they're into nightlife, cultural offerings, or whatever else. It's a quiet bedroom community where people come home from work, raise their kids, attend church and little league games, and that's about it. In that sense, it's no different than north Shelby County.

I would just come to the city. You got 2nd Avenue and Lakeview! Escape in Lakeview will be an exciting place... A multi cultural club.
