Any news on the railroad park pedestrian bridge ? An the LED colorful light on the thomas jefferson hotel ? Last reported :

" the project's general contractor Stewart Perry Construction shared details on its plan to recreate the zeppelin mooring mast and equip it with an LED light on the top. The company thinks the top of the docking station was removed or fell off in the 1950's. Stewart Perry has used historic photos to see what it used to look like and recreate it.

"Much like the Empire State Building, (it) will be connected to Internet so we can change the color and intensity of lighting remotely. It’s our hope that the tower atop the Thomas Jefferson will again be a Birmingham icon, acknowledging our past, and becoming a beacon for our city’s future," the company wrote on its blog."

Any updates ? thanks in advance.

no clue on the pedestrian bridge. it was announced so long ago, and since then... nothing. so I presumed it was dead.

Perhaps they are waiting until the transportation hub is finished and fully open, as it is supposed to serve that as a connection from it to RR Park. The hub is almost done.

trying to figure out where this would go. there's a parking lot on the northwest corner, but it's for that jewelry store (I assume).

Warby Parker will open its only Alabama store on April 8th at the Pizitz downtown. This just might send a message to other retailers that downtown Birmingham's rebirth is real.
