I just want people to realize that implying that Birmingham is home to some of the nation's worst traffic bottlenecks isn't really true.

Neither of the two bottlenecks listed cracked the top 50 nationally.

Traffic in Birmingham really isn't that bad. That is one contributing reason mass transit hasn't really taken hold here.

Your message is usually lost in the fact it is not on topic, too argumentative, not to mention you do stalk Tourian, which leads many, including me to sign off because it is of no interest.

You can and should adjust your attitude to regular local posters; it could improve the local threads. We have enough contentiousness here from 'visitors' without shooting ourselves in the foot, don't we.

Just a thought.

That's a bit off topic for this post.

I didn't know pointing out that traffic actually isnt that bad here was so negative.

And if Tourian was intellectually honest in his posts, I wouldn't have to constantly correct him.

Congratulations on your new interstate! Once you've got that I-65 connection complete, you'll have a fast, new way to get to Tupelo and Memphis. It's been a long time coming for I-22, and you finally have your road.

Happy motoring!

What I said was a paraphrasing of the article I referenced. The first line of the quote is evidence of that. It all comes down to the word. "Among."

You can PM me for instructions on what to do with your "constant corrections."

Drove through yesterday... Spring of 2016 doesn't seem to be too ambitious. There are no gaps or holes left that I can see and most all the heavy equipment is gone.

Yes to the complete connection of I-22 to I-65. I-22 to US31(Decatur Hwy) will take longer but from what I have read on here for a year, most (the majority) don't understand that is another contract and no one ever said that segment would be complete at the same time. Also, it is for more localized traffic and through traffic will hardly know it is there or even where it goes.

Agreed.

It is the 65 to 22 junction that will garner the attention and headlines when finally complete.

So. Many. Lanes.

Has it been determined if Tupelo or Memphis will be the control city for I-22 from Birmingham?
