Well, given that it's within walking distance of hundreds of apartments, a university, dorms, several hospitals, three hotels, and a baseball field, it's kind of a no-brainer to put a sports bar there.

There was a sports bar in Lakeview (On Tap) that closed a month or two ago. I know Parkside and Lakeview aren't exactly walking distance, but it does seem like a BWW could soak up some of that patronage that was without viable, traditional sports bar alternatives.

I agree. I think the real estate in Lakeview had become too valuable for On Tap anymore.

Well, it appears that Birmingham is Ground Zero amongst the nation's 50 largest metro areas for healthcare jobs.

It appears it will be direct/non-stop flights to/and from Denver, Orlando, and Philadelphia. That's some great starting moves with non-stop flights.

Yup. We have good friends in Denver. A cheap flight there makes it easy to visit this summer.

Awesome news! This will get pretty popular pretty quickly with those prices, I wouldn't be surprised if people from Huntsville, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa use Shuttlesworth Intl more often too.

I can see Montgomery and Tuscaloosa using Shuttlesworth Int'l. more often in the future. The only way I see Huntsville doing that if Shuttlesworth Int'l. were to get at more daily non-stop direct flights that were cheaper than Nashville Int'l. If Interim BAA CEO, Miguel Southwell is doing what I think he is doing then more non-stop direct flights may in fact come to fruition with Shuttlesworth Int'l.
