I'm just a outsider on the subject of schools, but I've heard that Hoover High is not what it used to be. I've heard of people moving out of the Hoover School district because of so many problems. I'm sure these people didn't move far (stayed in Shelby County). But nonetheless, the issues were significant enough they got out.

Hard to believe people would move somewhere just because of a school, but this is how it is around here.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those. Both excellent schools. Hoover High has probably declined since the olden days of 1990 when it was brand new, but it's still one of the top 10 schools in the state. Hoover is just fine and you won't have any problems there.
