Default Birmingham School

What is going on? Langford pushed a sales tax increase as well as business license fee increase not to mention no more renewal notices and immediate late fees for additional funds for schools and education. This morning the Birmingham New had a lenghty article about sixteen school closings.

Were the schools underutilized and closed to save money?

For example, HSV city schools are at 60% capacity and the schools are considering consolidating some school zones (low or no growth areas) and closing some schools. But note that HSV would plan to close two old schools and build one new replacement.
