RV parks? Where's the cheap ones? (Birmingham, Bessemer: rent, campground, price)

I rolled into Alabama last week or so, and I'm currently at the Lakeside Landing RV park outside Pell City on Lake Logan Martin while I look for work so I can get established. The monthly rate here went up to $400 today, and I was about to move to another one until I found out their monthly rate is $550. So that's out.

There's a very cheap park just down the road, the General Lee park, $125 a month, plus power, water , & sewer, but they are full up, naturally, so I can't get in there.

I've been noticing that the cheapest RV parks are not on the web, so there are pretty hard to find unless you learn about them by word-of-mouth.

Anyone know of a good cheap RV park outside B'ham?

there are a few campgrounds around Birmingham one is Country View RV park located I-65 north at exit 291 Hanceville that where I stay the rent is $140 per week or $300 a month showers and 30/50 amp for the same price there are plenty spots open as of 6/21/10 you can find then on the web just type in the name

There's the Good Sam park in Pelham, just south of Birmingham. I don't know the rates, but it gets good reviews and looks clean and shady.

Close to where you are now, you might try looking up 20 around Lincoln, I know there are some there or you could go south of Bham to Pelham/Alabaster as was mentioned or Clanton if you want to be waterfront which will put you about the same distance from Bham as you are now. I'm not that familiar w/ RV park pricing but I'm not surprised Lakeside Landing is high. Hope that helps a little and good luck.

$400 per month is less than $14 per day. If that includes sewage, water and elec,thats cheap.
