Having a thread for this statement seems like major overkill. We have far too many major openings for a burger place to be excitement.

Medici opening in Lane Park in two weeks is real casual food news.

Yeah, its site plan supposed to have went through the Birmingham Planning Commission back in July. I vaguely recall hearing it will be in the former Outback Steakhouse structure on Lakeshore Parkway. It's good to the Lakeshore Parkway corridor coming completely back to life with a variety of mixtures of uses aside from strictly retail. Hopefully, the extension of the Shades Creek Greenway multimodal trail as well will encourage even more active uses along this area. Upon the completion of the trail extension, the trail system will 5+ miles in length when you count Jemison Trail component extension in Mountain Brook from Wildwood.

I also heard that ALDOT will begin work on the diverging diamond interchange for I-65/Lakeshore sometime either in the last quarter this year or early 2019. There has been unexpected complications with the acquisitions of property easements needed to create new ingress/egress points for Wal-Mart & Sam's Club. This will be tied to the Shades Creek Greenway trail extension as it will provide new sidewalk/multimodal trail infrastructure along Lakeshore.

Normally you would be right, but since it made a major dust up in our favorite news blog, figured the Mayor
should get some credit for making it happen.
