I'm just stating a realistic view. People in Birmingham have seen semi-pro teams come and go. If they look like they're worth the time they will get support. The League as a whole has to look like it's going to stick around, because Birmingham has been burned before numerous times by hoping and being let down. The crowds aren't that bad right now anyway. 17,000 per game for a new league is pretty good when the weather hasn't been great for the first 2 games there. If they stick around to see the new downtown stadium open, they will have a ton of support for sure.

Birmingham should get a professional sports team and call them the Birmingham BBQ'ers!

I have been to the first 2 home games. What you see on tv don't do it no justice. Te entire game is hype as hell. We don't have a dome like in san antonio, so the weather play a part in it. Just wait till next month and april. As tho san antonio is selling out, yeah right. It's a new league. Nobody is selling out this first year...

The Iron are no longer undefeated. They lose 12-11 to SA. I understsnd the reason for the low attendance, was the right thing for most of the city to stay indoors from the weather. Looking forward to hopefully Legion filling up when the sun shines

I thought about going today, but the weather was going to be absolutely gross. I bet that decision was echoed by thousands of people.

Actually the storms were long gone from Birmingham by 3pm. I think it stopped raining at my house around 1. I didn't go because I had other plans, but all things considered, the weather was actually pretty decent for the game. No rain, not excessively cold.

But most people probably elected to not go hours earlier.

Looks like we will be down to 4 teams sooner rather than later. It seems like a foregone conclusion the AAF will fold. Too bad, as I actually enjoyed the Iron game I went to.

Yeah. Fledgling leagues like this seem to habitually underestimate how much cash it takes to run a league. The writing was on the wall during the first few weeks of the season when teams were struggling to make payroll, despite decent fan interest.
