WHAT??? Langford to get pay raise????
Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford could see a pay raise soon if the Jefferson County Legislative delegation gets its way.
Today Rep. John Rogers and seven others pushed House Bill 341, which would increase the mayor's salary from $90,000 a year to more than $130,000 a year.
Birmingham Mayor Pay Raise? - from CBS42.com
What nerve this guy has!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, since Rogers & Leapin' Larry are old friends, it's no surpirse that he sponsored the bill...speaking of which: wonder what's going to happen when the bills come due for all the projects Langford has sold the city on? Anyone remember Fairfield? Visionland?

I hit this prediction within a week of making it.
That's what you get when you play golf once a week with a bunch of lawyers.
It's uncanny how they know this stuff and then it happens.
As the other indictments come down, I keep everyone appraised in advance.
In your service,
Bravo

Yup. I heard it, too.
You know, when he had that prayer service the other day wearing sackcloth, I thought to myself, "Hey, this isn't about lowering the crime rate. This is about tampering with the jury pool. This guy is going for the Scrushy defense."
100-to-1 odds they change venue for this trial. He's going to get crucified, along with everybody else within a mile of the former JeffCo commission.

I grew up in Birmingham (Huffman/Roebuck), and went to school (grades 5-9) with a guy who used to buy cocaine from Richard Arrington's daughter Moderator cut: name at the mayor's house. That Arrington was succeeded by a swaggering skank like Larry Langford doesn't surprise me. I loved Birmingham, but it's rotting from the inside out.

I had a meeting yesterday with one of Alabama's most prominent attorneys. He said he felt the Government's case was very strong....
