Cool Large apartment complexes

So...I was in Birmingham looking for apts this past weekend. The difficult thing for me apparently is that I have a big dog. Most of the nice, quaint places in Southside or even Homewood and surrounding areas won't accept Pets (Please let me know if you know of a place that does that would have an opening in June - 2 bedrooms!!!!!) and that leaves me with the regular big apt complexes....I looked out on Lakeshore at "The Oaks" and "Lakeshore Ridge" and even over at the Summit at Cameron apts...I wasn't thrilled with any and I'm unsure of the area of the first 2 (scary Wal Mart around there), any insight would be appreciated as I am running out of time....*sigh*

I'd prefer to be closer to UAB than any of those and I'd rather stay away from 280...any ideas?

How big of a dog do you have and what kind? Most places shy away of "aggressive breed" dogs which are doberman, pitbull, chow, and rottweilers. Also most places have a weight restriction.

Oh yeah, I am very aware of this rule too...he's a mutt, he's a Grate Dane Mix, he's big, but very sweet (100 lbs)

Call select myspace if you are looking downtown and around for apartments. They will know who accepts pets with that size. As for apartments in the over the mountain area, I believe summerchase has no weight limit.
