Great point....all the day-to-day basics are five minutes away and plenty of them for that matter. It's the higher end shopping that takes a little longer but still very very reasonable travel times.

I just love that valley.....playing golf on the Ross Bridge Course has so many stunning views....its the most expensive on the Trail and jammed. That popular.

Bravo did Ross Bridge so much justice with his post. And all I have to add is that it's better than Greystone!

Thanks Penn....BTW I thought of you recently. One of my friend's here in good old MB has a son who is a National Merit Finalist. Finished with a 4.0 and applied to Penn for early Admission and didn't make it...He got admitted to Boston University but that would cost $50K per year and Glenn couldn't afford that....so he is going to Alabama's Honors Program ...but still very disappointed....had his heart set on Penn

This year has been on the toughest for college admissions. And the thing about Penn is that about 45% of the freshman class is admitted through ED. I don't think it's right, but Penn has always been that way when it comes to undergraduate admissions. A lot of the students that I teach had a lot of disappointments when they got their letters. One of my AP chemistry students is going to Stanford. But I've been a witness to a lot of tears since April. A lot of my students applied to schools in the south. Vandy, Emory, and Duke are popular here.

I've always thought that Boston University and New York University were two of the most overpriced and overrated colleges.

Wow very interesting. My autistic daughter's psychiatrist graduated from MB with honors last year and is at NYU now. He tells me she loves it....haven't a clue what she is studying though...

Two years ago, a close friend had a son who got a perfect 1600 on the SAT and had a 4.4 from MB....heart set on IVY....visited Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

Each told him the same:

1) You are qualified for admission - well qualified.
2) We have 3X as many people who are equally as well qualified, and we balance our admissions on: 1) equal balance from four different regions of US and 2) equal balance on gender 3) factor in balance on foreign applicants.

So basically, each told him that if he got the sad letter in the mail, "don't feel like you could have done more....you did all you could do, and maybe if you applied the year before or the year after - your number would have come up".

He got no from all three....crushed.

Vandy offered him 100% scholarship. Duke offered him 0% and his dad is an alum....Dad told him to take his choice - he had been saving for a long time.

He chose Duke and is having a good time but really wanted Harvard, Yale or Princeton....

Default I went to Princeton, but...

... could you guys stick to the topic of enticing me to move to Ross Bridge?

Does anybody know anything about mines and sinkholes in the Ross Bridge area?

Well, I think we've done pretty much all we can do except put in an offer for you. No matter how much we rave about RB, the decision is ultimately yours.

And I've never heard about the mine/sinkhole issue, but I'm also hundreds of miles away, lol.

Bravo, I'm PM you with a follow up . . .

Default I live around there...

actually, I live in the original 'hood called Deer Valley. RB is about 3 miles from my house. I go down RBPkwy every morning at 5:30 and get to downtown B'ham in 20 min. Takes 23 min to get home. Currently it takes about 10 min from my home to get to the galleria (traffic lights). They are 4 laning 150 to RB Pkwy. I have a love/hate thing about RB. It used to be quiet in the Deer Valley with NO through traffic (DV Pkwy was a dead end). Now, nothing but traffic, esp construction vehicles and cars with REALLY LOUD tailpipes and stereos. On the other, they did build alot of parks and nature trails around RB and created a shortcut for me to get to work (shaved off 20 min).
