Sounds like a good list, the monument part though could kill the whole thing sadly.

How about "automated traffic enforcing systems". Sounds like the infamous "red light cameras", which should not be allowed.

I love how they have to go hat in hand and beg our GOP overlords for some of those things that should be internal home rule policy changes.

I'm sure if the Birmingham "Democratic Powers that Be" were willing to pay for the wish list instead of begging the state for funds, there would be no issue.

Kind of a GOP voter here, but the Alabama GOP sure does love to talk out of both sides of its mouth. They're all about fighting Federal control over how state governments do biz, but turn around and are ready to tell local governments how to do biz.

On those items, except for removing history, Birmingham can do on its own. They do not need the states permission for those items.
