The student bodies are essentially affluent and white (this isn't a racial thing, it's just an education fact), high scores are pretty much the norm in those type of schools. You have to look at test scores within a certain context.

Same level I mean is that they all rated as grade A.

Sure, MB school is better than OM school, but be aware OM school is rising and soon will overtake Vestavia. this is determined by the local residents with median familiy income over 110K (Zipcode 35242) which is only after MB (193K, 35223) and higher than Vestavia (66K, 35216).

The difference lies in the quality of instruction, the courses offered, and the little things that make a great school different from a good school.

Just because Mountain Brook as a 26 average does not mean that it's this vastly amazing school. I know people with high scores and they are just about as dumb a a box of rocks.

I live in MB and this is undeniably true...my daughter just took her ACT and there were some amazing high scores from kids who don't have much horsepower...
