Default Homewood, Hoover, Helena apartment recommendations

We will be moving to B'Ham in a couple weeks so we don't really have the time to look for a home -- job oppurtunity came up and start date is pretty close.

We've searched on line for homes in homewood, hoover and helena and could be happy (from what we saw and what I've learned reading post). We would like to rent in one of these areas and buy a home in the same area later. These were chosen primarily because of schools. Homewood would be most desirable because of proximity to work.

We are looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment for about 850 in a safe, well kept community. Can I find that in these communities at that price range?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I live in Hoover at Barrington on the Green and have no issues with them at all. I have been there 2 years.
